Following on from last year's successful course, Manchester Frontrunners' Couch-to-5K course is returning on Thursday 5th September 2024! Hosted by our LGBTQ+ running club in Manchester, this is the perfect opportunity for anyone who wants to get into running with confidence, whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to running after an extended break.
Alongside two remote activities each week, you’ll do a group session every Thursday at 7 pm, held at the same time as our regular club run. The workouts blend running and walking, and with each session, the amount of running increases. Eventually, you’ll be able to run 5 km run all by yourself, with your graduation 5 km run will be at a Parkrun on Saturday 26th October.
Our club members will be there to support you, and you’ll be able to get to know them better at our weekly social at Via (with complimentary pizza), held right after our Thursday run.
As Greater Manchester’s LGBTQ+ running club, we would love to hear from a range of people across our wonderfully diverse local LGBTQ+ community, including (but certainly not limited to) women, transgender, non-binary and minority ethnic people, plus any straight allies. To make our Couch-to-5K course in Manchester as accessible as possible, we’re offering it for FREE (access to lockers at showers at the sports centre will cost £2 per session, however).
For further information, please visit our dedicated Couch-to-5K page. Spaces on the course will be limited, so please contact us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. To sign up, please contact our Couch-to-5K course leader and accredited running coach Steve Hatton by Monday 2nd September at steve@hattonrunning.com.
